    • Heinrich Schneikart first received private lessons in piano and violin. He then studied piano and violin at the Vienna Conservatory from 1952 to 1960 and double bass, organ, conducting and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 1960, he passed three diploma examinations there with excellent results.In 1959 Schneikart was a co-founder of the "Vienna Soloists:, with whom he played until 1971 and toured Europe, America and Asia. In 1964, he was appointed to a teaching post at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, which he held as a full professor from 1984 until 1997. In 1994, Heinrich Schneikart was awarded the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.
