    • The National Museum of Contemporary Art has opened its gates in the renovated Fix Building on Kallirrois Avenue and welcomes loyal enthusiasts and new visitors alike to dive into the seductive world of contemporary art.

The much-anticipated opening took place on October 31st, 2016, with the presence of the director, personnel and renowned artists as well as the press, highlighting the excitement of all contributors for the new home of the museum and the upcoming exhibitions and events to be hosted.

The National Museum of Contemporary Art was originally established in 1997, being funded by the then Ministry of Culture and Sports. Yet, its operation began in 2000.
Before finding its permanent home in the neighborhood of Neos Kosmos, near Koukaki, the exhibitions were presented in different artistic venues in Athens. More specifically, from 2003 to 2008, the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens School of Fine Arts and some public spaces hosted the museum's exhibitions, while from the last day of September 2008, it was housed at a section of the Athens Conservatory.
